Mark Fletcher
Mark leads the water business in Arup for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He is the Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor to Bradford University in Engineering Design for Sustainable Development since 2003. He has been actively involved in developing arts, engineering and the environment on water and flood-related projects and has incorporated art into projects for a number of years.
Mark also supported a NESTA (National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts) Fellowship for an artist Peter Coates 2005-2007. He has collaborated on a number of projects with Peter Coates including ‘Monolith’ and more recently ‘Textus’ commemorating 800 years of Leeds as a place. He is also involved in ‘Sonic Shower’, an acoustic mapping project around catchments in Yorkshire. He is the Project Director for the Bradford Mirror Pool.
Recently he co-wrote a paper for CIWEM on Engineering, Art and the Environment and presented at the Rivers and Coastal Group AGM on the same subject in May 2008.
