Message from the Branch Chairman – Martin Cross Spring Events 2010

Dear Members,

This year’s programme of events is now well underway, and to date we have successfully hosted events on Concrete repairs and Contaminated land.  As a branch we have also continued our fruitful collaborations with other organisations in joint events, such as the Hydraulic Conference held in September in conjunction with the IAHR, and the Product Innovation Evening jointly hosted in October with PIG.

The theme for this year’s programme is Innovation. Our events consider Innovation not only in terms of products and technologies, but also from the perspective of how we operate our businesses.  I hope that this theme will enable everyone to obtain and share new ideas that will further the progression of our industry.

As a branch our continued aim is to provide events that are both useful and interesting to you.  Therefore, if there are any new or different subject areas that you would particularly like to see incorporated into our events programme, please do contact me to discuss this further at ciwemnwnw@yahoo.co.uk.   

We are clearly experiencing difficult times, not only for many of our members, their employers, but also for our sponsoring organisations.  Despite the challenging financial environment, as a branch we continue to offer a programme of events which provide an excellent opportunity to maintain your CPD at little, or no cost.  Our events are also excellent networking opportunities for likeminded industry professionals. 

Please do make an extra effort to attend our programme events this period, I can guarantee that they will be high quality, interactive and informed. All of our forthcoming Spring events are also FREE of charge!
