Wed 9 December Pipeline installation – theory and practice Black & Veatch, Redhill Craig Roberts from Black & Veatch will present on the use of innovative GIS technology to optimise pipe routes. Thurs 28th January 2010 (rescheduled from 12 November 2009) Reservoir Inundation Modelling Capita Symonds, East Grinstead Dr Matthew Roberts will discuss the National Reservoir Inundation Mapping Project that required the production of dam breach flood inundation maps for the nation’s 2,000 reservoirs falling within the Reservoirs Act of 1975. Thurs 4th February Energy from Waste (Joint with ICE South East England Branch) Brighton University Jonathan Fryett of New Earth Solutions will give a presentation on recent developments from the waste industry, focussing on emerging technologies and energy from waste systems.

Tues 16th March Hydromorphology and the Water Framework Directive Royal Haskoning, Haywards Heath Speakers from Royal Haskoning and the Environment Agency describe hydromorphological pressures and what they mean for our waterbodies.

Mon 10th May (Note 4pm start) SSSI Management in practice at Arlington Reservoir A guided tour of Arlington Reservoir and presentation of how South East Water manages its many Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
Tues 18 May Brighton & Hove WwTW Southern Water, Worthing A speaker from Southern Water will explain the proposals for the Brighton & Hove wastewater treatment works.
Wed 19 May Young Members Presentation Competition Brighton University Annual opportunity for young members to compete in this competition and win prestigious prizes.
Wed 9 June New Members Meeting: Preparing for the Professional Review Royal Haskoning, Haywards Heath Advice for graduate members in undertaking the CIWEM Professional Review from recently chartered members and professional reviewers.
Wed 16 June (Note 2pm start) National Fruit Collection Brogdale Farm, Faversham A guide will explain the historical background of the fruit varieties in season and offer tastings while you explore the orchards. To be followed by our AGM.
