CIWEM will accredit academic courses to meet the educational requirements for membership of the Institution at appropriate grades, provided that:

• the academic content of the course(s) relate to the disciplines of the water and environmental management professions as specified in the Institution's Charter and Bye-Laws, and, if appropriate;
• they meet the criteria and standards of the relevant Registration Authority, e.g. the Science Council and Society for the Environment. (Please note that CIWEM is not licensed to accredit academic courses on behalf of ECUK in support of UKSPEC.
