Alys Fowler started gardening in her early teens and after leaving school she trained with the Royal Horticultural Society, The New Botanical Gardens and the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. She won a Smithsonian scholarship to study at the New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx.

  Ashley Cooper has always been passionate about the environment and in recent years Global Warming, the affects of which he has been documenting for the last 11 years. His trips have taken him to many parts of the world with his particular interest being in capturing images that graphically demonstrate the impact of global warming, on people, places and wildlife.

  Ayishat Akanbi is a fashion stylist and visual expressionist. Since making her entry onto the fashion scene in 2010 Ayishat has been a stylist for high profile musicians and celebrities in sport, TV and film.

He has rowed the Atlantic Ocean, crossed Antarctica on foot, run across the Sahara and crossed the Empty Quarter on camel.

Christine on EPOTY 2017:

“The natural world we live in is perhaps the single most important and fragile thing that we all take for granted. Our environment is part of us and has a huge impact on how we live our lives and that’s why I’m supporting this campaign to raise awareness of its’ importance.”

Helen Glover was one of the most prominent sporting stars to emerge from the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games – all the more remarkable given until four years earlier Helen had never stepped in to a boat before. Alongside her rowing partner, Heather Stanning, Helen wrote herself into the British history books by not only winning Team GB’s first Gold of the Games but claiming British Rowing’s first ever female Gold medal.

  In the space of 8 years, Levi Roots has gone from a sauce entrepreneur to restaurateur when, in December 2015, he realised his ultimate dream of opening a Caribbean restaurant. The Levi Roots Caribbean Smokehouse opened its doors to the public in Westfield Stratford City, bringing authentic sights, sounds and tastes of the Caribbean to the masses.

Max McMurdo officially started his career turning junk into treasure as a child crafting washing up liquid bottles into spaceships! After graduating from Bournemouth University with a 2:1 in Product Design and Visualisation in 2000, Max fulfilled his boyhood dream and became a car designer in Cologne, Germany.
