Plan your visit
The Global Environment 2007 offers unrivalled opportunities to build and enhance working relationships in a stimulating environment.
Take advantage of time to explore the River Thames and London’s cultural life with a special weekend hotel rate for delegates, their partners and families. There will be a programme of activities starting on Sunday 7 October with an exploration of CIWEM’s heritage at the Crossness Engines Trust, to be expanded shortly as other social, cultural and leisure activities are added to the programme. Partners and other guests are also invited to join delegates for the Global Environment Dinner on the River Thames on Tuesday 9 October.
The Presidential welcome drinks reception on the eve of the conference on Monday 8 October allows delegates to meet in a relaxed atmosphere. Three days of conference sessions then offer you the opportunity to tailor your own programme with a choice of parallel streams organised into forty sessions. Core sessions will address the key strategic issues in water and environmental management with perspectives and insights from the latest research and from those developing world-class innovative solutions to the cross-organisational challenges facing policy-makers, developers and planners.
Highlights include case studies from London, the UK and the rest of the world addressing the key themes of climate change and sustainability, Next Generation sessions- the annual forum for students and recently qualified practitioners to learn, discuss and share experiences, and Arts and the Environment which connects the arts community with environmental professionals to explore and promote the relationship between the arts, sciences, technology, business and the environment. This is CIWEM’s Presidential theme for 2007-2008 which will be launched at the conference.
