The Aim

The aim of this meeting will be to accelerate the practical application of ecosystem goods and services thinking into workable procedures throughout the wider water sector, including the periodic review process to 2014, water quality (WFD 2015), water resources and flooding, in order to meet the urgent requirement of getting this thinking into the current planning cycles. It will draw upon a wealth of recent work.

Objectives

To clarify the over-arching policy context, the development of ecosystem goods and services thinking as an assessment methodology and it's application in the water sector.

To explore what progress has been made in relation to the major water sectors:

• Future Price Limits 2014 ('PR14')
• The Water Framework Directive
• Flood Risk Management
• Water Resource Planning

To look at what guidance is being prepared to assist the process of putting EG&S thinking in to practice in the water sector.

To look at the practical developments of Paid Ecosystems Services thinking
