Severn Trent are undertaking a significant project in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire to retrofit Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) in order to reduce flooding in the catchment. This comprises over 1,400 separate interventions in the catchment including surface water separation.

This site visit follows on from the Mansfield Green recovery: Sustainable Drainage webinar held on 18 April 2023 that provided an introduction to the project, the drivers and approach taken.

Meet at 5:00pm at the offices, where there will be a short 20 minutes’ presentation before we drive about 1 mile to the sites where work has been undertaken. The tour will provide an update of the project including a walk around the site. Whilst PPE is not mandatory we will be walking along roadsides and suitable footwear should be worn.

Part of the CIWEM Flood Resilience and Adaption series.
