The Rivers and Coastal Group is one of three specialist subject groups within CIWEM. Formed over 50 years ago, the Group continues to enjoy success.

The Group has over 1000 members who come from the government organisations including the Environment Agency and Scottish Environment Protection Agency, consultants, contractors, local authorities and the academic world. Membership of the group is open to any CIWEM member who is engaged in river or coastal management and new members are always welcome. " The Flood Grover "

The first paper competition is upon us again. This year’s theme is Raising Resilience. As always the competition is in two phases. The first phase is a written competition (deadline 25th January 2008). The written entries will by judged by leading figures within the industry and the top three entrants will be invited to the second phase to present at the 2008 RCG Study Weekend on the 28-30th March 2008.
