Spring Meeting: Engineering and the Environment – Perfect Partners? Date: 15 May 2008 Location: Austin Court, Birmingham Contact: Phil McLoughlin (phil.mcloughlin@fabermaunsell.com)
Brief Description: The focus of the programme below is on learning the hard lessons of recent flooding events and looking at how we can provide environmental benefits across the engineering sphere of influence, with a focus on living with and coping with surface water sustainably. The day will allow us to learn from past examples and help us to improve our ability to manage our influence on the environment better into the future.
The programme has been developed to provide a wide range of coverage of varied surface water engineering solutions that can be used to mitigate our effects on the natural environment. In line, with the current Presidential theme, a discussion session is also planned to investigate if we can achieve better solutions by using art to aid engineering solutions and the environment.
