Publications

On top of all of these, CIWEM also produces a whole suite of briefing reports, guidance notes and policy position statements on a huge variety of issues.
All of the Institution's publications can be found on our website.

CIWEM provides a forum for debate through a wide range of publications for environmental professionals, government representatives, academia, the media and the general public.

Our popular magazine, The Environment, has a growing circulation of 12,000 and covers subjects such as flood risk management, eco-fashion, water wars, waste management, international restoration programmes and environmental entrepreneurs. This is supplemented by our e-newsletter that includes breaking news, job vacancies, event listings, policy developments and Institutional news.

The Global Environment is an annual publication containing forewords from some of the highest level people working for the environment, ranging from the President of the Maldives to the Archbishop of Canterbury, along with wide variety of articles and photographic reportage.

Our peer-reviewed Water and Environment Journal is the leading publication in its field, dealing with worldwide environmental matters, including water resources, the management of solid and hazardous wastes, control of air pollution and environmental conservation. Papers have investigated issues such as the use of water in religious rites, the effects of pile driving on dolphins, oil spills in Gaza and fog harvesting in Hong Kong. We also produce the online-only Journal of Flood Risk Management.

On top of all of these, CIWEM also produces a suite of briefing reports, guidance notes and policy position statements on a huge variety of issues.
