    Evening Meeting: Modelling Approaches

    18:00 (17:30 refreshments)
    19:30 Approx.

    Location: Swindon

This meeting will look at two aspects of modelling.

The first presentation will introduce a conceptual model of the flood risk management system designed to encourage a shared understanding between stakeholders. Our speaker Joe Clarke from CH2M Hill will also describe how the benefits of some components of the model can be quantified at different scales.

The second presentation will focus more on water resources modelling. Steve Knox (Uni. of Manchester) and Brett Korteling (CH2M Hill)are part of the team developing Hydra Platform (database and server) and Hydra Modeller (User Interface), to facilitate the creation of bespoke Applications (simulation and optimisation models and data management/analysis routines) to support networked water resources management. This talkwill describe how an Application interacts with Hydra and give an overview of the Hydra Modeller User Interface and the functionality it offers such Applications.
