East Midlands New Members' Group
The East Midlands New Members' Group (NMG) runs a programme of
activities for new or budding water and environmental management
professionals in the East Midlands.
Established in 2012, with the support of the main East Midlands
Branch Committee, we take pride in our passion, innovative thinking
and implementation of ideas. Since August, we have hosted events
and have planned a calendar of activities specifically for those
needing to develop an understanding of the industry.
NMG events are designed to provide a platform for people to become
involved with CIWEM, increase confidence and competence, improve
knowledge, accrue CPD and meet people in similar positions in their
career. Our events enable networking at various career levels
ranging from students through to Chartered professionals in an
open, diverse and highly supportive environment.
For 2013, our theme is 'Inclusion & Integration' where we are
seeking to increase awareness of the NMG and broaden our membership
base throughout the East Midlands. To do this we have planned a
programme of social and workshop events and seek to work closely
with our neighbouring New Members Groups to bring real benefits to
our members.
So, if you are asking yourself any of the following...
What is it like to work in the water and environmental
sector?
How do I join CIWEM and what are the benefits at early stages of
my career?
How can I increase my awareness of the water and environment
industry and current issues?
I'd like to know more about a particular topic; can the NMG hold
an introductory workshop with a professional speaker?
How do I gain experience of presenting to wide audiences and
peers outside of my employer/mentor?
How do I become involved in the activities of CIWEM and show my
commitment to the Institution?
What is the best way of establishing a professional network
locally across many different sectors and companies?
...then the NMG is a great place to start. To learn more about the
NMG, future events or if want to become involved on the committee
please contact the NMG Committee at eastmids@ciwem.org
We look forward to hearing from you!
