    • Helen Dangerfield - Immediate Past Chairman

      National Trust

      Helen joined the National Trust in June 2011 as a Conservation Consultancy Manager in London and South East specialising in provision of water and environmental advice across the region and nationally. Helen is a fluvial geomorphologist by training and has worked in river and coastal management for the last 12 years, initially at Jacobs and subsequently Royal Haskoning. She has specialised in advice on hydro-morphological issues most recently associated to delivery of Water Framework Directive objectives associated to physical improvements to rivers, estuaries and coasts.


      Helen is Chair until April 2013 having previously been in the role of Honorary Secretary for the CIWEM met branch.

    • Tayab Malik - Committee Member

      Tayyab recently joined CIWEM as a Graduate member and is a new committee member. Tayyab is responsible to assist branch secretary in day to day matters.

      Tayyab completed his Bsc. Agricultural Engineering in 1995. Worked in Rice husking manufacturing Japan based company Kaneko as Project Engineer. Soon after he obtained his first masters degree in Water Resources Management in 1998. Worked in IWASRI (International water logging and salinity research institute) as research engineer. During his work with IWASRI he conducted a case study for flat canal Irrigated areas; he also developed rainfall runoff relationship for a catchment area of Qaiser drain.

      Tayyab obtained his second masters in Civil Engineering from University of East London in 2001. Worked as Quality control engineer in Alcatel. Tayyab also worked for Fujitsu and David S Smith Group for some time. Now Tayyab is working as a volunteer engineer for a world wide charity and helping them on dig a well project.

    • Astrid Tishler -

      Astrid is an environmental a consultant at Ramboll and works mainly on environmental impact assessments, due diligence studies and environmental coordination for detailed design. Astrid has experience in working with developers, architects, design engineers, planners and contractors to deliver good environmental practice and sustainability throughout the life of development projects and strategies.

    • Kayan Cheng -

      Kayan became a member of CIWEM in 2012. She has over six years of experience in the Environmental and Engineering Consultancy with experience focussed on flood risk assessment, drainage design, modelling and assessment for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
