Wild and farmed fisheries – Debate “This house believes UK aquaculture production should at least double by 2020”
The Fishmongers' Company & CIWEM Metropolitan Branch
10:00 for 10:30
Fishmongers' Hall, London Bridge, London, EC4R 9EL
We are recommended to eat fish regularly because of the
associated health benefits but wild fisheries have reached their
sustainability limits so future increases in supply will have to
come from farmed fish. However, aquaculture can have adverse
effects on the environment and on the health of other local
fisheries. This one-day event is being held in the beautiful
and historic Fishmongers' Hall. It will comprise a series of
four debates about each of the main aquaculture sectors. Each
will have an expert proposer and an opposer. Delegates will
be able to join in the debate and to vote on the proposition for
each sector and for aquaculture overall.
Don't delay, numbers are limited so book early to avoid
disappointment.
