Message from the CIWEM Scottish Branch Chair
Welcome to the CIWEM Scottish Branch site! We are an
active and enthusiastic Branch, with an interesting and varied
range of events to reflect our richly diverse membership.
Our aim for 2015/16, as ever, is to deliver high quality events
with engaging subjects and speakers. Most of our events are free to
attend, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. With site visits,
workshops and evening talks, there is something for everyone.
I would like to extend an especially warm welcome to any new
members of CIWEM! We continue our two annual New Members events
this year, where you have an opportunity to practice your
presentation skills to a group of peers and experienced
professionals. It is also an excellent place to build your
professional network. Our New Members representative is Chris
Pittner -please contact him if you are interested, he wants to hear
This year we are particularly excited about our Annual Symposium
(May 2016), which we are running jointly with Centre of Research
Expertise for Waters. We will be looking back at twenty years of
Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems implementation in Scotland, and
looking forward to what the future holds for these systems. Please
keep an eye on the website for the event programme, which will be
released closer to the date.
If you are interested in becoming a Chartered Member of CIWEM,
we have two Membership Workshops this year. There you can find out
all you need to know about the different routes to chartership

Want to bring a friend or two? Please do! You do not need to be
a member to attend our events. Whether you are a student or
an experienced professional, joining CIWEM is an excellent way to
develop your career and expand your professional network. All of
our events are CPD-certified.
