Health, Safety & Environmental Management in Anaerobic Digestion

    MacDonald Holyrood Hotel, Edinburgh, Scotland

From January 2014, business will be required to start separating and collecting food waste in Scotland.  This is great news for the AD industry as it more than likely means a requirement for more AD plants across Scotland to cope with the increase in food waste collections.

However, whilst anaerobic digestion offers many potential environmental and economic benefits, recent accidents in the sector act as a stark reminder that anaerobic digestion can pose significant health, safety and environmental hazards when not operated properly.

Now that new technologies are moving into the mainstream, it is important to avoid the pitfalls which come with lack of experience and training. Health, Safety and Environmental Management in Anaerobic Digestionis designed to enable AD project managers to develop robust systems and practical skills to ensure the safety of their workforce.
