      Norman has been on the committee for the last five years, including two years as branch chair. He works in the Developer Services team of Welsh Water, providing water supply and wastewater services to developers across Wales.

      Tracey has over 15 years experience working in Water Resources Management within Natural Resources Wales (formerly Environment Agency Wales).  She has been an active member of the CIWEM Welsh branch since 2007 and currently acts as secretary (External comms and Events). 
      Main areas of interest: Environmental Water Management, Hydrometry & Hydrology, Hydrological Modelling, Climate Change, Water Resources Planning and Water Resources reporting (Statistics).

      Jeremy Jones is a consulting engineer and advisor to regulators, water companies and industry.

    • Peter Bennett - Committee Member

      CIWEM role: Committee member of Welsh Branch and a member of Engineering Professional Board. Previously Chairman (twice) and Treasurer of the Branch, a member of the Council of the Institution, Chairman of EPB and a member of the Trustee Appointments Committee.

      Worked in local government for 10 years, Welsh Water for 19 years, and a self employed consultant for 22 years. Now retired.

      Areas of Interest: engineering work within the entire water cycle, but particularly the reception, handling and disposal of water following its use by humans.

      Work for/Job Title: Technical Director at JBA Consulting

      George is an environmental engineer specialising in flood risk management, hydrometry, flood risk visualisation and communication, flood modelling, and the design, selection and implementation of flood alleviation schemes.  In 2009 George established JBA Consulting's first Welsh office in Newport, from where he leads a diverse team of engineers, hydrologists, hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists and landscape architects.

      Main areas of interest: Michaela is an Engineer with experience in weather modelling and hydrology.  She is interested in extreme precipitation events,  flood modelling, and remote sensing technologies.

      I work for Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water as a Eng Tech Water Resources Planner. I have been in the water industry for over 20 years gaining experience in water supply delivery and now more recently Water Resources. I have recently been involved in the development of our Water Resources Management and Drought Plans.

    • Prof. Roger Falconer - Fellow of CIWEM and committee member

      Work for / Job Title: Cardiff University / CH2M Professor of Water Management and President of International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research
      Roger Falconer leads a large research team, pursuing research on modelling flow, water quality and sediment transport processes in coastal, estuarine and inland waters. He advises on marine renewable energy, flooding and global water security.  

    • Emma Harris - Committee Member

      Work for/Job Title: Pollution Reduction Strategy Manager, Dwr Cymru Welsh Water

      Emma has over 20 years experience in Water Management including coastal, rivers and pipe networks for pollution control, engineering design and flood risk management for the consultancies, water companies, Environment Agency, Local Authorities and academia.

      Main areas of Interest: pollution, asset management, operational efficiency, data mining, SMART networks.




    • Graham Hillier - Past Chair

      Work for / Job Title: Tidal Lagoon Power  (MD of Development Services)
      Graham has recently joined Tidal Lagoon Power as Managing Director of Development Services. Previously, Graham was the Executive Director for Operations South with Natural Resources Wales having previously worked for Environment Agency Wales for 9 years as South East Area Manager, South West Area Manager and latterly Executive Flood Risk Manager.  Previously Graham spend 20 years in the private sector, providing commercial environmental science services to industry and governments worldwide.  His qualifications include a BSc in Geography & Oceanography, an MSc in Marine Geotechnics and an MBA. 
      Main areas of interest: Marine Science, Estuaries, Coastal Processes, Climate Change, Wales.
    • Mike Jones - Committee Member

      Work for / Job Title: Lead consultant at Infosys
      Mike has been in the water industry for too many years! During this time he has been fortunate to have worked in water companies, contractors, consultants, manufacturers and IT, and at various levels from operator to programme manager, which has given him a unique perspective on the industry. He has been delivering outcome based solutions for many years, including when on the CIRIA Water Panel, and is still involved in driving innovation and change within the industry. Mike has been on the Welsh Committee for over 10 years, and was Chair in 2005.

      Gwion is a Director at Atkins Ltd, a provider of global infrastructure consultancy.

      He is the chair of the Wales Urban Drainage Group, formed in 2015, a CIWEM special interest group for promoting best practice in the field of urban drainage.

      Norman was Chief Scientist, Environment, Welsh Water until 2000 and served on its Quality and Environment Committee until 2009.  He is now a Member of Glas Cymru.  Norman joined the CIWEM Trustee Board in 2010.

      Caspar is an Associate within Mott MacDonald leading the Environmental, landscape and Geotechnical teams within the Cardiff office.  Caspar has over 18 years post-graduation experience in the consultancy business specialising in contaminated land, waste and hazardous materials.  He has provided hazardous waste advice to Foreign Aid Agencies, NGOs and at government level.  He has mainly worked in the UK but has worked on a wide variety of projects in the Americas, mainland Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.
