    Greener Grangetown

    17:30
    19:00

    Speakers: Jeremy Jones (DCWW)

Venue: Faculty Lecture Theatre (T2.09), Trevithick, Cardiff University

ICE Cymru (supported by CIWEM Welsh Branch) would like to invite you to attend an evening presentation on Tuesday 13th January 2015 on Greener Grangetown.

Jeremy Jones of Dŵr Cymru Welsh will talk about retrofitting a variety of surface water management techniques, aimed at reducing the amount of surface water entering the combined sewer system in the Grangetown area whilst also enhancing local amenities.

The City of Cardiff Council, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and Natural Resources Wales are investing £2 million in Greener Grangetown, an innovative scheme to better manage rainwater in the community. Using the latest techniques, this scheme will catch, clean and divert rainwater directly into the River Taff instead of pumping it over 6 miles through the Vale of Glamorgan to the sea. It will help to make Grangetown a greener, cleaner place to live.

Greener Grangetown is currently in the design stage and construction of the first phase of this exciting initiative will begin in 2015.

Cost for the event is FREE and is open to non members. Light refreshments will be available from 5.30pm.  For further details please contact: Felicity White at Felicity.White@ice.org.uk

Please book your place online at www.ice.org.uk/wales/GreenerGrangetown , you do not have to be an ICE member.
