SUSTAINABLE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION HELPS CATERERS CLEAN UP THEIR CREDENTIALS
The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) has
approved its first supplier of cleaning products in a bid to ease
restaurants' concerns about their environmental
impact.
Delphis Eco, the UK's leading manufacturer of ecological
cleaning products, has already started supplying SRA member
restaurants, including the central London-based pub group, Cubitt
House.
Mark Linehan, managing director of SRA, commented:
'Sustainability in restaurants is about much more than the
provenance of food. Environmental responsibility is also a key
element and the availability of ecological cleaning products that
are safe and competitively priced is a hugely positive step. For
this reason we are very pleased to list Delphis Eco as an approved
supplier.'
The products and chemicals used to guarantee hygiene standards
are a crucial aspect of sustainability in the catering industry.
Many cleaning products traditionally used in restaurants cause
damaging pollution to our water supplies - a problem that generally
goes unrecognised by the public who often take comfort in
'cure-all' water treatment facilities.
