Event Description

This module begins by reviewing the ways in which organisations can contribute to the pollution of our environment and moves on to consider basic environmental and sustainable business practices. It explains how to go about formulating an environmental policy along with defining environmental objectives and targets, and writing action plans for your EMS. It covers the principles of good environmental management and stewardship, including the approach to an environmental review, management reviews and a continual improvement programme, and enables you to gain an appreciation of the wider impact of environmental policy and regulation in corporate environmental planning. The module provides you with an overview of formal environmental management quality standards such as ISO 14001, EMAS and a phased approach using BS8555, together with an understanding of how environmental management systems such as these are audited and reported upon.

The cost of the module is £500.00 (inc. VAT). The module has a learning time equivalent to 8 hours spread over 5 weeks.
