Risk Assessment for Environmental Professionals
CIWEM's 'Risk Assessment for Environmental Professionals' is unique in its practical focus, encompasses all areas of risk assessment and complements recent Government guidance. It is an essential stand-alone guide for anyone who comes into contact with risk assessement scenarios, such as general managers, regulators, environmental consultants, risk analysts and postgraduate students on environmental management and related courses.
The publication is supported by the Environment Agency, the Scottish Environment Protection Agency and the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland. It is edited by Dr Simon Pollard, Risk Analysis Manager at the Environment Agency, and Dr Jo Guy, Service and Performance Manager at the Office of Water Services.
The first section of the book concentrates on the principles of risk assessment - drivers, tools and techniques, recent developments and new directions. The second section is a series of detailed practical risk assessment case studies by key contributors including authors from the Environment Agency, URS Dames and Moore, HR Wallingford, National Grid and others.
