CIWEM announces new business partnership with Jacobs

CIWEM is delighted to welcome Jacobs as a business partner.

Jacobs is challenging today to reinvent tomorrow -helping to solve the world’s most critical problems and following an Environment Strategy with the objectives of leading with social and natural capital solutions. Creating resilient and liveable cities, leaving a lasting and positive legacy for communities and turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good. From the way it operates its business to the work it performs with clients and other organizations, Jacobs looks at ways to make a positive environmental, societal and economic difference for businesses, governments and communities around the world.

CIWEM will support these objectives through the professional development of Jacobs’ water and environmental professionals and creating opportunities for knowledge share and promotion of best practice.

We are also delighted to support Jacobs’ ambitions to source 100% renewable energy for their operations in 2020; to achieve net zero for operations and business travel in 2020; and to become carbon negative for their operations and business travel by 2030.

A business partnership with CIWEM demonstrates a commitment in joining our aim of working towards a safer, more sustainable world. CIWEM business partners are dedicated to environmental best practice and safeguarding the health of people and nature for current and future generations. Jacobs will benefit from bespoke support from CIWEM to aid them in realising their goals in becoming global leaders in sustainability and resilience.

Terry Fuller, CIWEM Chief Executive said: “Jacobs’ Global Sustainability Strategy, PlanBeyond™, is a world-class example of the changes that CIWEM is promoting following our declaration of a climate emergency. I am therefore delighted to work in partnership to support this strategy and help nurture the development of Jacobs’ water and environmental professionals. Our organisations have a long-standing relationship through support of CIWEM’s awards and membership and this business partnership enables us to consolidate this and target our efforts on achieving our mutual aims.”

Bruce Chalmers, Jacobs People & Places Solutions Vice President UK and Europe Water and Environment business, said: “We are delighted to have formalised an agreement with CIWEM to cement and enhance our partnership in the areas of water and environment, to drive thought leadership, support our people’s professional development and disseminate best practice in the industry.”
