Educational programs which have been professionally accredited have had their curriculum and facilities subjected to a demanding evaluation against external standards commonly held by the profession concerned. The current accredited courses are listed below.
CIWEM will accredit academic courses to meet the educational requirements for membership of the Institution at appropriate grades, provided that:
- The academic content of the course(s) relate to the disciplines of the water and environmental management professions as specified in the Institution’s Charter and Bye-Laws, and, if appropriate;
- The course(s) meet the criteria and standards of the relevant Registration Authority, e.g. the Science Council and Society for the Environment.
