We seek an enthusiastic senior researcher with expertise in Chemical/Environmental Engineering to develop research into off-grid low carbon, low energy water systems to enhance sustainable rural community potable supply and treatment both nationally and internationally. The work will underpin ongoing initiatives supported through the Scottish Governments Strategic Research Programme, the Centre of Expertise for Waters (CREW) and Scottish Government’s Water Industry Team. Such systems, involving innovative technologies are being promoted in rural environments in Scotland, UK and throughout developing countries, and form the basis of a more sustainable circular economy.
This senior post will lead research in this area, initiating projects oversee the operational delivery of the Institute’s developing research agenda in relation to low carbon, low energy water systems, manage existing projects and engage with experts to establish strong consortia for proposals in support of future research through competitively won income. This will also require liaison with key stakeholders, project, financial and staff management. There will be a focus on developing the portfolio of international activities.
