Project officers are required to deliver a nationally funded property flood resilience pathfinder project to develop awareness and uptake of resilience measures in homes and businesses across Yorkshire.
Yorkshire has experienced a wide range of flood impacts over recent years, climate change scenarios show that we need to become more resilient to future flood risks and climatic change.
We have an exciting opportunity for three Flood Resilience Project Officers to develop the understanding and awareness of property flood resilience in communities, businesses and professional services across Yorkshire.
You will be working with a wide range of flood risk management organisations to design and develop flood resilience educational and awareness materials and deliver effective and impactful face-to-face training and awareness sessions across Yorkshire. You will bring a range of skills to this role including:
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills – you are able to convey complex and difficult subjects to a wide range of audiences
· A quick learner – you will be able to understand and develop the aims of the Property Flood Resilience Pathfinder project and rapidly develop approaches to build flood resilience across Yorkshire
· An ability to deliver projects successfully – you will have experience of delivering complex projects and a range of outcomes
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of flood resilience approaches and techniques. You will be passionate about our environment and through proven presentational skills you will be able to share this passion with others.
You will be able to evidence situations where you have developed an approach to education and engagement and can show how this has had a positive impact and delivered on the projects goals.
Although the role is hosted by City of York Council the project covers the whole of Yorkshire and you will spend considerable amounts of time working with stakeholders across this area.
