Job Description

12-month, fixed-term contract (maternity cover) – salary between

£25,000 and £30,000 pa (dependent on experience) plus benefits including 6% pension.

This could be a full time (37.5 hrs per week) or a part time (hours negotiable) role.

 The Westcountry Rivers Trust is an environmental charity that works across the South West to improve our rivers for the benefit of all.  We work with EU grants, Water Company funded initiatives and government funding to deliver change both in our rivers and on the land that they drain.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of the Trust’s ongoing work we are looking to recruit a competent, dynamic and enthusiastic person with experience in project management and contractor supervision to manage the delivery of a number of projects, the most significant of which is SPONGE2020, an EU Interreg 2Seas funded project focused on adaptation to climate change. The core theme in these projects is the co-design and co-delivery of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), working with communities in urban environments in Somerset.

The successful candidate will have experience of topics such as urban green/blue infrastructure, SuDS, landscape-scale conservation, ecosystem services, catchment management, and river restoration, and how physical improvement projects deliver these topics in both urban and rural settings.

The post holder will be based principally within WRT offices in Stoke Climsland, Cornwall.  The post will report to Dr Nick Paling, Head of Evidence & Engagement.

Person Description

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they are exceptionally self-motivated and are passionate about managing and improving the environment. They must also be a good communicator with a strong background in the environmental sector and the delivery of projects.
