Event description

Flooding is one of the most pressing climate-related risks facing the UK, with over 6 million properties currently at risk and projections suggesting this could rise to 8 million by mid-century. The FloodReady Action Plan launched in October 2025 sets out a bold and practical roadmap to mainstream Property Flood Resilience (PFR) across sectors, organisations and communities. It builds on the 2016 Action Plan and reflects the growing urgency to better protect people, communities and properties from increasingly frequent and severe flooding.

This free webinar delivered by BeFloodReady, CIWEM’s Community of Practice for PFR brings together key stakeholders from communities, insurance, finance, the PFR sector and professional bodies to explore how the recommendations of the FloodReady Action Plan can be implemented. It will highlight the collaborative efforts needed to scale up PFR, improve public trust, and embed resilience into everyday practice – from new builds to retrofits, and from product certification to professional competence and confidence.
