Hosted by the CIWEM Tyne and Humber branch and CIWEM Welsh branch

Event description

This joint event between the CIWEM Tyne & Humber Branch and the Welsh Branch will explore how nutrient quality in groundwater and surface waters can be monitored, assessed, and managed at scale across the UK.

Drawing on practical case studies from Yorkshire, Wales, and beyond, the session will examine approaches to interpreting monitoring data and understanding nutrient distribution in the water environment.

It will cover a range of assessment methods, including long term monitoring datasets, land use modelling, spatial interpolation, and GIS based decision tools, and will highlight how these techniques can be combined to establish robust baselines, identify data gaps, and support evidence based water quality management.

This is a hybrid event, so please note that the online virtual doors will open at 17:30 BST.

Part of the CIWEM Environmental Quality and Pollution series.
