Hosted by BeFloodReady, CIWEM's Community of Practice for Property Flood Resilience

Event description

With urbanisation and the risk of flooding increasing it is important to continually explore approaches to improve the flood resilience of people, property and infrastructure. This includes improving the flood resistance and recoverability of properties through Property Flood Resilience (PFR). This is supported by initiatives to enhance the understanding of flood risk, enabling communities to improve their preparedness through flood forecasting, warning and adopting flood plans.

Innovation in approaches and products can help overcome some of the challenges posed by increased flood risks and constrained resources. Since 2021, The Environment Agency’s Flood and Coastal Resilience Innovation Programme (FCRIP) has actively been looking to reduce flood risks. Focused on “learning from doing” the programme has been looking to inform future approaches to flood and coastal risk management and deliver improved resilience. Amongst the 25 projects there are a few projects focused on PFR and the resilience of communities.

This free webinar delivered by BeFloodReady, CIWEM’s Community of Practice for PFR has been developed for all those involved and interested in flood resilience, particularly PFR and it will discuss the role of innovation showcasing some of the FCRIP projects specifically focused on PFR and resilience.

Register for 24 October 2024
