Hosted by BeFloodReady, CIWEM's Community of Practice for PFR

Event description

With flood events becoming more frequent and severe, the need for robust and technically sound approaches to Property Flood Resilience (PFR) is increasingly important. The Code of Practice for PFR in 2021 sets the benchmark for the delivery of good practice covering flood hazard assessment, surveying, design and construction of PFR. Since 2021 knowledge and experiences on PFR have continued to develop.

This session explores two critical aspects of PFR delivery. The first presentation will introduce BS 85500:2025, the newly updated British Standard for flood-resilient construction. The second will focus on the delivery of PFR in historic buildings, highlighting the importance of understanding different construction types to avoid maladaptation and ensure long-term resilience.

This webinar delivered by BeFloodReady, CIWEM’s Community of Practice for PFR has been developed for all those involved and interested in flood resilience, particularly surveyors, contractors, conservation officers, local authorities, insurers and others enabling or delivering PFR.

Register for 01 October 2025
