Event description

Join us for the return of our fun and festive Annual Christmas Quiz! We encourage attendees to wear Christmas jumpers and will award a prize for the best on the night!

This year the quiz will be held at The Greyhound, Friar Gate, Derby. Buffet food will also be provided, and on-street parking is available nearby. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or special access needs. The venue is a short walk from Derby Bus Station and Derby Railway Station.

This event is free to attend this year, thanks to the support of RPS, and is open to both members and non-members of CIWEM.

Each teams will comprise of 4-6 people. For those booking who are not part of a team we will match you up with a team.

Spaces are limited, so register now to avoid missing out on this evening of fun and celebration.

Booking and joining information

This event is open to members and non-members of CIWEM.

To register your free place, click on the registration button. Non-members who have not registered for the CIWEM system can create an account on the booking page in order to reserve their place. This should not take more than two minutes.

If you have any questions about your booking please let Barbara Woods know. Should you be unable to attend the event, after booking your place, contact Barbara Woods, so your place can be allocated to another delegate.

Please note that registrations close at 9:00am, 2 working days before the event is to take place. If you have not registered by then, unfortunately we cannot add you to the event.

About the venue and getting there

The event will take place at The Greyhound, Friar Gate, Derby, Derbyshire DE1 1FN. The venue is around 21 minutes’ from Derby Railway Station and a couple of bus routes run near the venue.

Travelling to the venue

As part of CIWEM’s commitment to tackling the climate and ecological emergency we would encourage delegates to use the most environmentally sustainable means of transport possible.

By Train

Derby railway station is the nearest mainline railway station to The Greyhound and is at Derby, Railway Terrace, Derby DE1 2RU. East Midlands Trains and LNER trains all go to Derby railway station for all those coming from outside the city.

By Bus | Coach

The Derby bus station is located at The Cock Pitt, Derby DE1 2AW, just 7 minutes’ from The Greyhound. The SW1 and Swift bus routes run near the venue.

By foot | cycle

The venue is only 40 | 19 minutes’ walk from Derby railway station and bus station respectively and 9 | 5 minutes’ cycle ride.

By car

If you are coming by car, please consider sharing the journey with others to reduce your environmental footprint.
