Event description

Join the CIWEM Metropolitan branch and the CIWEM East Anglian branch for an evening aimed at those in their early career journey in joining CIWEM or upgrading their membership, led by current members of the branch committee.

The workshop will provide clear advice and actions for new members joining the organisation, led by current members from the CIWEM Metropolitan and East Anglian branches.

There will be a discussion on the available routes to membership of CIWEM and the value of each membership grade, as well as personal accounts of three members at various levels of their career and their journey with CIWEM and what the organisation means to them.

Throughout the evening, there will be plenty of opportunities to network with like-minded professionals and discover the benefits of being part of a professional body and charity.

CIWEM Members and non-members are all welcome to attend this workshop.

About the speakers

Dylan Pritchard | Senior Consultant – Climate Resilience | Mott MacDonald

Dylan Pritchard is a recently Chartered Water and Environmental Manager (C.WEM MCIWEM) with over 8 years' experience in climate change and environmental risk assessments in the water sector and contaminated land investigations. Dylan has delivered a number of major nationally significant infrastructure projects, ensuring climate change is considered in a range of design and environmental considerations for these projects. Dylan has experience in consultancy but also working for a Western Australian water utility and their risk management processes.

Charlotte Nunns | Senior Associate Flood Risk Manager | Mott MacDonald

Charlotte Nunns is a Fellow Member (FCIWEM) of CIWEM with over 24 years’ experience working in flood risk management across multidisciplinary national infrastructure projects and is an expert advisor for planning, consenting and flood risk. Charlotte brings extensive understanding of flood processes, being a technical expert and expert witness specialising in flood risk policy and legislation and all levels of flood fisk assessment. Charlotte is also the current chair of the East Anglian branch of the Chartered institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM).

About the venue and getting there

The event will take place at the Mott MacDonald Offices, 10 Fleet Place, London EC4M 7RB United Kingdom. The venue is within easy walking distance of City Thameslink, Blackfriars and Farringdon railway stations, as well as St Paul’s underground station, and several bus routes run near the offices.

The workshop will be on the second floor. Someone will be available to help you gain access to the lift on your arrival.

Travelling to the venue

As part of CIWEM’s commitment to tackling the climate and ecological emergency we would encourage delegates to use the most environmentally sustainable means of transport possible.

By Train | Underground

City Thameslink railway station is the nearest mainline railway station to the Mott MacDonald offices, located at Ludgate Hill, London EC4M 7JH. Farringdon Station, at Cowcross St, London EC1M 6BY and Blackfriars at 179 Queen Victoria St, London EC4V 4DY are close too. Thameslink run trains to all three railway stations for all those coming from outside London. In addition, the TfL Elizabeth line trains come into Farringdon station, as part of CrossRail.

The nearest underground stations are: Farringdon (Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines); Blackfriars (the Circle and District lines); and St Pauls (Central line) for those travelling around or into London.

By Bus | Coach

The no. 17, 25, 26, 341, 46, 56, 63 and 8 bus routes run near the Mott MacDonald offices.

By foot | cycle

The Mott MacDonald offices are only 3, 6 and 12 minutes’ walk from City Thameslink, Blackfriars and Farringdon railway stations respectively and 2, 3 or 4 minutes’ cycle ride.

By car
