Event description

Join the CIWEM Northern Ireland New Members’ Group hosted beach clean at Crawfordsburn.

By participating in the CIWEM NI Early Careers Beach Clean at Crawfordsburn Beach, you'll be contributing to important work. 60% of litter found on beaches is plastic, which breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces – increasing its chances of being eaten by a marine animal. Helping to remove litter from our beaches helps to preserve our beautiful coastline and protect marine life from the dangers of pollution.

We will have a few litter pickers, pairs of gloves, bin bags, sharps box, first aid kit, but please bring with you:

  • High Vis vest/ jacket
  • Garden/protective gloves
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Water
  • Reusable cup
  • Sunscreen/waterproofs
  • Sturdy shoes

CIWEM members and non-members are welcome to attend this event.

Part of the CIWEM Environmental Quality and Pollution series.
