Join us on Monday 08 December 2025 from 11:00 (GMT) for CIWEM's very first Presidential Debate, designed to offer attendees senior-level insight into the issues that matter most to the water and environmental sector.
Guided by our 2025 Presidential theme, "Green Roots, Growing Prosperity - why climate and environmental resilience supports the government's growth agenda," the main event will be a structured debate chaired by our new President, John Curtin.
The debate will feature a cross-party selection of members of the House of Lords with extensive experience in environment, housing, and climate policy. Together they will reflect on the UK's current direction in balancing growth and environmental priorities and share candid insights into the political realities and implications for the water profession and wider society.
A networking lunch will keep the conversations alive and allow attendees to celebrate the CIWEM Presidential Award winners, recognising outstanding contributions and celebrating individuals driving progress in water and environmental management.
This is your opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the UK's direction of travel on key policy areas affecting water, environment and infrastructure, and to connect with the people helping make it possible.
