Event description

We are delighted to be holding the annual CIWEM Rivers and Coastal Group (RCG) Study Day again.

We will have talks in the morning at the Havant Thicket Reservoir Site Office and site (PO9 6FF) with a visit in the afternoon to Memory Park I Havant (PO9 1HA). There will be plenty of opportunities to network throughout the day. A full agenda will be available closer to the day.

The meeting point for this event is Havant Railway Station, North Street, Havant, PO9 1PP, where transport will be provided to the venue.

Lunch and light refreshments are included in the ticket price.

CIWEM members and non-members are welcome to attend. However, we anticipate the study day will be as popular as ever, so we recommend booking early to secure your place.

About the venue and getting there

The event will take place at Havant Thicket Site Office (PO9 6FF); however, to maximise our time and minimise logistics, we will meet at Havant Station (North Street, Havant, PO9 1PP). From here, a mini bus will take us all to the site.

Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear and clothing for a site visit. We will let you know if PPE is required for any of the visit although this is not anticipated.

Travelling to the venue

Please let Selena Peters know in advance if you need to travel to site in any other way than by train to Havant Station.

As part of CIWEM’s commitment to tackling the climate and ecological emergency we would encourage delegates to use the most environmentally sustainable means of transport possible.

By Train

Havant Station is the nearest railway station to the site, and our meeting place. Southern trains run from Brighton and coastal towns to the east of Havant and South Western trains run out of London Waterloo for those coming from outside the area.

By bus

The no. 20 Stagecoach bus runs between Portsmouth and Havant stopping at Havant Bus Station, (Elm Lane, Havant, PO9 1QD). It is about a five-minute walk from the bus station to the railway station. The journey takes 1 hour and 15 minutes.

By car

Parking is available with advance notice, but please avoid travelling by car, if possible.

As this is an in-person event, please remain vigilant to control the spread of COVID-19 and stay safe.

We request that if you think you might have contracted COVID or have recently had the disease, that you do not attend this event.
