Event description

The 2022 Bathing Water results showed the highest ever number of Northern Ireland's bathing waters to have met the best possible standard of ‘Excellent’.

The improvement in the number of bathing waters reaching the ‘Excellent’ standard is a result of the effective partnership working between various stakeholders.

This webinar, presented by DAERA, AFBI and NI Water, will illustrate the work being undertaken by these key stakeholders to support improvements in water quality such that all Northern Ireland’s bathing waters can reach the best possible standard.

The speakers will discuss bathing water quality over the years, the role of microbial source tracking (MST), how capital upgrades in wastewater infrastructure are supporting improvements and will consider what is next for our bathing waters, including the bathing water review and predictive modelling.

Part of the CIWEM Environmental Quality & Pollution digital series.

Register for 22 March 2023
