Join us at this webinar which will provide an introductory overview of groundwater and groundwater flood risk before reviewing how groundwater flood risk is currently considered in development planning policy and development management.

We will explore the current gaps and challenges in the planning process and present a hierarchical framework for improvement to enable a step-change to mitigate against developments causing or exacerbating flooding risk.

About the speaker

Fola Ogunyoye, FCIWEM C.WEM CEng | Director | TJAY Consultancy Ltd

As the Director of TJAY consulting Ltd, with over 35 year’s experience at the interface of flood risk, development planning, people and environment, Fola Ogunyoye carries out studies and delivers solutions that help communities and infrastructure reduce their impacts on the environment, making them more adaptable and resilient to flood risk and climate impacts.

As well as being a Chartered Engineer, Fola is a Fellow, Chartered Water and Environmental Manager and has been involved with CIWEM’s Rivers and Coastal Group and currently sits on CIWEM's Flooding and Coastal Erosion Risk Management panel.

At present, Fola leads the planning workstream for Project Groundwater.

This event is open to members and non-members of CIWEM. The webinar is hosted on the Zoom platform and will be recorded.
