Event description

Hosted by the CIWEM West Midlands branch and the CIWEM East Midlands branch

This event will be in person this year.

The CIWEM East Midlands branch and West Midlands branch will be holding their annual joint Dr Jenkins competition 2022.

The event provides an opportunity for new and prospective members of CIWEM to present technical papers on any topic in the field of water and environmental management.

The chosen three finalists will present their papers at the event and the winner and runners up announced on the night.

A buffet will be available on the evening, with plenty of opportunities to network with friends and colleagues during the evening.

About the chair and judges

Chair

Stefan Fidlschuster

Stefan Fidlschuster is currently serving his first term as Vice Chair of the West Midlands branch, having previously chaired the West Midlands New Members Group since 2019. He joined Severn Trent Water as a Business Leadership Graduate in 2017 and has worked in a variety of roles in the fields of potable water, wastewater treatment and renewable energy.

Judges

Hannah Hogan

Hannah Hogan has over 15 years’ experience in Flood Risk Management and has worked at Lead Local Flood Authorities, the Environment Agency and Private Consultancy. She is Flood Risk Manager at Birmingham City Council and a Chartered member of CIWEM, Chartered Environmentalist and an ordinary member of the CIWEM West Midlands branch.

Travelling to the venue

As part of CIWEM’s commitment to tackling the climate and ecological emergency we would encourage delegates to use the most sustainable means of transport possible.

The WSP offices are within easy walking distance of railway stations and tram and bus routes. Birmingham New Street and the Grand Central tram terminal are only 8 minutes’ walk and Snow Hill railway station and Bull Street tram stop are approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the offices.

If you do come by car, please do consider sharing your journey with others.
