Event description

Hosted by the CIWEM East Midlands branch and the CIWEM West Midlands branch

The CIWEM East Midlands and West Midlands branches will be holding their annual joint Dr Jenkins best technical paper competition 2023.

The event provides an opportunity for new and prospective members of CIWEM to present papers on any topic in the field of water and environmental management.

This event will be in person this year. A buffet will be available on the evening, with plenty of opportunities to network with friends and colleagues during the event.

About the venue and getting there

The event will take place at the Atkins Offices, SNC-Lavalin House, 4 Roundhouse Road, Derby DE24 8JE. Derby railway and bus stations are within easy walking distance and there are several bus routes that run near the offices for those travelling by bus.

Travelling to the venue

As part of CIWEM’s commitment to tackling the climate and ecological emergency we would encourage delegates to use the most environmentally sustainable means of transport possible.

By Train

Derby railway station is at Railway Terrace, Derby DE1 2RU. East Midlands and Cross Country trains all go to Derby Station for those coming from outside the city.

By Bus | Coach

Derby bus station is at Mortledge, Derby DE1 2AW and only 10 minutes away from Atkins’ offices. The no. 1 and Skylink Derby bus routes run near the Atkins offices.

By foot | cycle

The Atkins offices are only 3 and 16 minutes’ walk from Derby railway station and Derby bus station respectively or 3 or 5 minutes’ cycle ride.

By car

If you are coming by car, please consider sharing the journey with others to reduce your environmental footprint.
