About the speaker

Emma Bird | Assistant Asset Manager (Dredging) | The Canal and River Trust

Emma Bird has volunteered and worked for the Canal and River Trust for over ten years as an Environmental Scientist and now Assistant Asset Manager. Her work has covered disciplines as diverse as invasive species, waste, EMS, publicity, and water quality, but now exclusively covers dredging across a region covering the Tyne and Humber and East Midlands branches.

About the venue and getting there

The event will take place at the Canal and River Trust Office, on the 1st Floor, at 21 The Calls, Leeds, LS2 7EH. Enter the car park through the large gate and then turn right to reception.

The venue is within easy walk of both Leeds railway station and the bus station.

Travelling to the venue

As part of CIWEM’s commitment to tackling the climate and ecological emergency we would encourage delegates to use the most environmentally sustainable means of transport possible.

By train

Leeds railway station is the nearest train station to the venue and is located in New Station Street, Leeds LS1 4DY for those travelling from outside the city.

By bus | coach

Leeds bus and coach station is located in New York Street, Leeds LS2 7HU and is only six-minutes’ walk and four-minutes’ cycle from the venue.

The no. 16 and 163 buses run from Leeds Railway Station to near the venue.

By foot | cycle

The Canal and River Trust office is ten-minutes’ and six-minutes’ walk from Leeds railway station and bus station respectively and five-minutes’ and four-minutes’ cycle from the venue.

By car
