Event description
Please note that this webinar will start at 4:00 pm New Zealand Time | 5:00 am BST.
In July 2020, the New Zealand Government launched the Three Waters Reform Programme following on from the Three Waters Review and the establishment of Taumata Arowi, the new Crown entity water services regulator. This three year programme will change local government three waters service delivery arrangements, providing a new comprehensive, system-wide process with local government working in voluntary partnership with iwi/Māori as the Crown’s Treaty Partner.
Our panel discussion will examine the water reform taking place in New Zealand and how this impacts future small drinking water supplies.
Speakers from the new Government regulator, Taumata Arowai, a drinking water supplier, Auckland Council, and a design, build and maintenance contractor, Wavelength Water Ltd will give their sector’s perspective on the reforms. They will discuss the key changes for small water supplies, the challenges identified for meeting the new regulations, and the opportunities new technologies offer to facilitate the improvements.
Part of the CIWEM Water Resources digital series.
