The CIWEM North Western and North Wales branch is delighted to be hosting the Glyn Ellis Prize Early Career Paper Competition again this year.

This competition challenges early career professionals in our region to submit an abstract on a subject related to water or the environment, finalists will present their work to a specially selected group of judges made up of CIWEM members and industry leaders.

Prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening to the best entries.

Refreshments will be provided, though we ask attendees to notify us in advance of any special access needs or dietary requirements

This event is open to members and non-members of CIWEM.

Please note there is limited capacity at this event. Bookings must be made through 'My CIWEM' using the above booking link. Non-members who have not registered for the MyCIWEM system can create an account on the booking page in order to reserve their place.

About the venue and getting there

The event will take place at the Mott MacDonald office in Manchester. The venue is only 10 minutes’ walk from Manchester Piccadilly station and several bus routes run near the venue.

Travelling to the venue

By Train | Underground | Tram

Manchester Piccadilly railway station is the nearest mainline railway station to the Mott MacDonald office and is at Piccadilly Station Approach, Greater Manchester, M60 7RA.

The nearest tram stop is Piccadilly Gardens. The tram operator, Bee Network, operates a tap-and-go scheme: tap in on the card reader at your tram stop using your contactless card or device before boarding, then tap out with the same card or device at your final stop.

By Bus | Coach

There are free buses, routes 1 and 2, which run from Manchester Piccadilly station to Piccadilly Gardens every ten minutes until 19:00 and every 30 minutes afterwards.

By foot | cycle

The venue is only ten minutes’ walk from Manchester Piccadilly station and less than five minutes’ cycle ride.

By car

If you are coming by car, please consider sharing the journey with others to reduce your environmental footprint.
