Event description

Greatham Marsh Restoration is an Environment Agency project to restore Greatham Beck by restoring the watercourse to its historic alignment, remove the tidal sluice and complete earthworks to encourage natural formation of marshland. This will enable numerous benefits including carbon sequestration, nutrient reduction, allowing natural migration of the Tees estuary, enabling fish passage and completing Agency’s existing legal obligations.

This site visit is a chance to hear about the project through a presentation and Q&A followed by an opportunity to see the site up close mid-construction.

Part of the CIWEM Nature-based Solutions and Flood Resilience and Adaption series.
