This course provides participants with an understanding of the principles of Natural Flood Management Feasibility and Appraisal, including: scoping, barriers and enablers, funding options and design considerations. We are delivering this course at our Broughton Park office through a mixture of classroom-based workshops and site walkovers.

Steve Rose BSc MSc FRGS CGeog
Steve has over 30 years’ experience of applied environmental research and consultancy in the areas of rural/agricultural land management and drainage, natural flood management, surface water pollution and wetland restoration. He has led a number of collaborative multi-disciplinary R&D and consultancy projects for Defra (previously MAFF) and the Environment Agency into the impact of rural and agricultural land management activities on surface water and floodplain resources.

Ryan Jennings BSc PGDip
Ryan's career at JBA has been primarily involved with Natural Flood Management. He is proficient in both desk and field based NFM feasibility studies aiming to identify potential NFM interventions to aid reducing/slowing of surface water flows. He is also experienced in fluvial geomorphological studies including river restoration scheme designs and assessments.

Will Benedikz MEng CEng MICE C.WEM MCIWEM AaPS
Will is a chartered civil engineer with over 25 years’ experience in flood risk, water management and civil infrastructure. His experience ranges from work on feasibility and appraisal schemes, through to detailed design and construction. As one of JBA’s Principal Designers, he has a strong grasp of legislation alongside practical expertise, delivering projects ranging from environmental improvements to natural flood management schemes.
