The webinar will be of interest to Local Planning Authorities, Development Managers, Park Managers, Communities and Neighbourhood Planning. Attendees will come away with clarity about the quantity and quality of GI required and an improved understanding of how to design green infrastructure to deliver multiple benefits.

The GI Framework will help local planning authorities and developers meet requirements in the National Planning Policy Framework to consider GI in local plans and in new developments.

The GI Framework is a commitment in the Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan to deliver more and better quality GI to enhance towns and cities, and create attractive, healthy and investable places.

About the launch webinar 

The 90-minute webinar will feature keynote speeches from Natural England Chair, Tony Juniper and Chief Planner, Department of Levelling Up Housing & Communities for England Joanna Averley.

Our GI experts will present introductions to the GI Standards, the GI Design Guide, (developed to closely align with the National Planning Policy Framework), the GI Mapping Tool and the Urban Greening Factor. And we have two short films, the first showcases nature recovery at the UK’s largest urban rewilding project and the second looks at urban parks and how strategic planning of green infrastructure led to Manchester’s first new park in 100 years.
