Overview
The water industry in the UK has pledged to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030 – well ahead of the government’s target of 2050. It has already achieved 45% emissions reductions since 2011 but faces a challenge of diminishing returns on action: The closer you get, the harder it gets.
Industry body Water UK has overseen the development of a routemap to this target. Launched in November it sets out what it calls a “world first”, detailed, sector-wide plan to achieve net zero by 2030.
There are many components to this sector. Water may be ubiquitous but every company is different in terms of meteorology, geography, customer-base, supply chains and more. This webinar will cover the sector-wide routemap and then examine the specific challenges and experiences of a number of individual companies, followed by a panel discusion with question from the audience. We will then hear from key providers in the supply chain, before considering how some of the trickiest challenges could be met.
