Event description

For AMP8, Ofwat is going to bring back third party independent assurance. This will enable trusted experts to audit the delivery of the huge amount of additional “enhanced” expenditure that companies will be given.

With water companies in the news for sewage pollution and price increases, few are aware of the almost invisible role of the technical auditors. These undercover superheroes act as the guardians of customer money, making sure the companies are delivering in line with the rules and conditions set out in their licences, legislation and through the Final Determinations.

This webinar will hear directly from an experienced auditor who will explain why auditing is back in vogue and lift the mysterious veil to reveal what is involved in water company audits. The significant shift in the assurance framework for AMP8 is of relevance to all water companies but particularly Southern Water and Thames Water, located in the CIWEM Central Southern branch area, who have big programmes for AMP8 and have had some compliance challenges over the years. This webinar will help explain the value of auditing and the benefits of the changes in AMP8.
