Hosted by the CIWEM Metropolitan branch
Event description
The CIWEM Metropolitan branch is delighted to be hosting two talks about environmental pollution from industry environmental specialists at this webinar.
After an introduction and welcome, the first presentation will look at a case study of in situ treatment of brownfield sites contaminated with the emerging contaminant, Perfluoroalkyl substance, PFAS plume using direct push injection of colloidal activated carbon.
Our first speaker, Jack Shore will introduce us to the technique used, showing which parameters and testing are required in order to develop accurate designs. He will highlight the benefit of focused testing, analysis and pilot testing to inform the design, programme and cost of full scale remediation works, accelerating the redevelopment of brownfield sites contaminated with PFAS into safe housing development.
Our second speaker, Rowan Byrne, will talk about marine plastics and new technologies being developed to reduce them.
There will then follow a Q&A session with closing remarks from the chair and speakers.
Part of the CIWEM Pollution digital series.
