Event description

Severn Trent will be hosting a site tour of Toton Sewage Treatment Works, which serves a significant part of Long Eaton and western Nottingham.

In this tour we will see where the wastewater enters the works and the initial screening. We will then go on to look at the different stages of treatment. Finally we will look at the disposal of treated effluent back into the watercourse and discuss the recent transfer of treated effluent into the river Trent rather than the adjacent brook in the nature reserve.

David Stone, who is the site manager for Toton STW, will accompany us through a tour of the sewage works from arrival, through treatment, to disposal and John Cordon from Capital Delivery will run through the recent capital project deliverables

Both CIWEM members and non-members are welcome.

Please note that as this is a site tour of a sewage treatment works, PPE, including steel toe cap boots and a high viz vest is obligatory. If you do not have any PPE, please contact Andrew Warren well in advance of the visit.
